The timeless muses and their first portrait together…
For the first time Catherine Deneuve and Kate Moss pose together in front of Patrick Demarchelier‘s camera at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris. The ageless muses look stunning and glamorous, they seem to know it all and one can even sense a hint of humor…
“…She’s amazing, beautiful and chic and everything I want to be, also as a woman growing old gracefully and with such class. So I was over the moon that she liked me and wanted to do the pictures.” Kate Moss about Catherine Deneuve
Pictures of Kate Moss’s first ever photoshoot was recently held in a new exhibition called “Kate Moss: Roll 1” at London’s Lawrence Alkin Gallery. 25 years ago photographer David Ross was asked by his friend Sarah Doukas to take pictures of a then-14-year old fresh face and unique girl called Kate Moss. Have a look at a select number of the first images ever taken of the Croydon-born beauty. So pure and sweet and real.
“Kate was a young girl like any other, but with a certain teenage air about her that was piercing. She was against the grain of any other look of the time. She was a cool kid and refreshing in that sense. She just had an attitude and an expression that kind of came easy, I guess.” Photographer David Ross
Exhibition… Must See !
JUERGEN TELLER: Woo!
23 January 2013 – 17 March 2013
A new exhibition held at the “Institute of Contemporary Arts” in London, opening next week on January 23. The showcase will feature some of the influential artist’s most recent bodies of work.
I consider him one of the most important photographers of his generation, Jürgen Teller is one of a few artists who has been able to operate successfully both in the art world and the world of commercial photography. This exhibition will provide a seamless journey through his landmark fashion and commercial photography from the 90s, presenting classic images of celebrities as well as more recent landscapes and family portraits.
I am sure it will be a lot of fun and inspiring to see his best works of the last two decades!
Jürgen Teller was born in Erlangen, Germany in 1964. He studied at the Bayerische Staatslehranstalt für Fotografie in Munich, and has lived and worked in London since 1986.
Other highlights include several candid images of Kate Moss in bed at the Ritz after her 25th birthday and behaving like a true rock star in Ronnie Wood’s recording studio. “She is a free spirit, she enjoys being photographed,” he says of the supermodel. “We are both open-minded and enjoy each other’s company. I let her be her; I have ideas; she tries things out; we play around – we have fun taking photographs.” Juergen Teller
KATE MOSS as a platinum blonde for the December Cover Shoot of Vanity Fair photographed by the most hard working fashion photographers of the moment – Mert & Marcus. The British Beauty exudes a sexy bombshell of the sixties very glam-like with a perfect cat eye and a platinum hair do. For the pictures she bares her body and for the interview her soul. It shows that she has become a real grown up woman being content with her body and her life.
KATE MOSS …. cool, elegant and sexy, like herself for the Cover Story of Centrefold Magazine lensed by Venetia Scott.
